How to setup exchanges with different products?

Introduction

In today’s e-commerce environment, enabling product replacements or exchanges is a crucial factor to build trust & loyalty in customers for brands. Studies and reports show that about 50% of returns in the fashion industry are due to size and fitting issues.

EcoReturn's efficient exchange process allows customers to exchange with same or different product. With exchange, you save revenue as customer isn't issued a refund like in case of return.

Configuring different product exchanges

To allow exchange with different products for your customers you need to follow the below-mentioned steps:-

1. Go to Exchange under Settings.


2. Select the option "Allow exchange from selected products". 


3. If you want the customer to exchange from only selected category or products, you can setup the desire configuration using Product tags. 

4. Choose Product tag from the 1st dropdown. 

5. Next you can choose if you want to exclude or include those products having that Product tag

  1. IsProduct tag should exactly match the the tag entered here. Products which are tagged with the tag entered can be chosen by the customer for exchange.
    For example if you entered 'shirt', only the products tagged with 'shirt' will be shown
  2. Is not: Product tag should exactly match the the tag entered here. Products which are tagged with the tag entered won't be shown to the customer for exchange.
    For example if you entered 'shirt', only the products tagged with 'shirt' will be excluded. Rest of the products will be shown to the customers for exchange
  3. Contains: In this case the product tag doesn't need to exactly match with the tag entered here. With this products of one or more categories can also be shown.
    For exampe if you entered 'shirt', along with products tagged with 'shirt', products tagged with 'sweatshirt' , 'formalshirt' will also be shown to the customers for exchange

6. Next enter the Product tag (Example - Shirt ) and press 'Enter' after entering each 'Product tag'.

7. You can enter multiple product tags as well if you want to allow multiple types of products for exchange.

8. While you can show selected products using Product tags, you can also show products within a certain price range of the original product. For example you can choose to show all the products within 75% to 125% of the cost of your original product. 8. Incase you want the customers to exchange with all products in your catalog, then you can set the values as 0 and 100000

9. You can also add a combination of Price range & Product tag condition

10. When a customers selects the product this shows the variants of the products listed on your store. If you want to allow exchange even with Out of stock products select the checkbox "Allow exchange order even if exchange item is out of stock"


11. If there are price differences in variants of the same product and you do not wish to collect it if exchanged with a higher value item, select the checkbox "Do not collect price difference if exchanged with same product variant".

12. Similarly, if you do not wish to refund the price difference if exchanged with a higher value item, select the checkbox "Do not issue refund if exchanged with same product variant".
