Introduction

Refunds are an important aspect of return management. E-commerce brands have different policies on charges they want to deduct or the refund mode they would want to issue refund through. This is where EcoReturns steps in as a game-changer.

EcoReturns makes it extremely easy for you to issue refunds by deducting any charges you want to and also offers different refund modes like Store credit, Payout links and Original payment method refund.

Steps to follow

Follow the steps below to "Issue Refund in just a few clicks:

1. Login to your EcoReturns dashboard.

2. After logging in, select ‘Returns’ from the left-side of the menu

3. Next, you will see the list of the returns and exchanges that your customers have initiated

4. Click on any Request for which you want to Issue refund.

5. Once the request is opened you will be able to see the actions you can take for a request. Click on Issue Refund

6. Once you click on Issue Refund you will see different options to process your refund

  1. Original Payment method - You can issue the refund through this method only if the order is prepaid. The amount will be refunded to the customer's credit or debit card and it may take 5-6 business depending on the bank.
  2.  Refund as store credits - Encourage repeat purchases from your customers by issuing store credits as refund. EcoReturns supports different types of store credits. Before issuing store credit refunds make sure to enable it in your refund settings. Find more information about it here
  3. Mark as manually refunded - Incase you have refunded manually outside the EcoReturns system you can mark the request as manually refunded to add the record into the system and notify the customer.
  4. COD Refund via Payout Link (Only India) - If you want to refund to the customer's bank account for Cash on Delivery orders then doing it manually is a huge hassle. EcoReturns make the process seamless with it's integrations of Razorpay, Cashfree. Once you click on issue refund, customer will receive a payout link where they can enter the bank account details or UPI ID to get a refund to their desired refund mode.

7. Returns can be loss making for brands. Especially many brands do not want to bear the cost of reverse shipping and restocking the item. This is where EcoReturns comes in. Using EcoReturns you can deduct

  1. Restocking fee - You need to enter this fee manually
  2. Reverse shipment fee - Reverse shipment fee will be dynamically fetched based on reverse shipment cost (Shipping label or Reverse pickup cost). You can modify the fee according to your needs before issuing a refund. If you are collecting the reverse shipment fee beforehand while submitting the request you wouldn't need this.
  3. Forward shipment cost - This will be fetched from your native platform if the data is synced by your forward shipment carrier. Otherwise you can deduct it manually by entering the fee
  4. Taxes
8. Once you chosen the refund method and deducted necessary fees, Click on Issue Refund button and you’re done!
